Highrise towers near the strip such as Turnberry Towers is often very appealing to many would be residents who want to live near the Las Vegas Strip. Henderson and Summerlin are two considerably quieter suburbs that many people reside in.
When it comes to recreation, there is more to Las Vegas than all the gambling and glitz that occurs on the Strip. For instance, there is great hiking at state run recreation areas such as Red Rock Canyon and Mount Charleston. Or perhaps if you like to boating or just want to spend time on the lake, then Lake Mead is a great place to spend the day.
